AD CORE DEVISE SHOWROOM COLUMN Vol.511 (Nagoya Sakae Showroom)
Many people associate Milan, Italy, with the Winter Olympics held there this year, but I recently visited the world's largest furniture fair, the Salone del Mobile Milano, held every April, for a training program. Not only were there exhibitions by various companies and designers throughout Milan, not just at the main FIERA venue, but the entire city was bustling with people as part of Milan Design Week, creating a lively and exciting atmosphere.
I was excited and full of anticipation even before departing for my first inspection trip, and it did not disappoint. I was greatly inspired by the world-class design, spatial arrangements, and presentations. Not only interior design, but luxury brands, high-end watch brands, and luxury car manufacturers all set up exhibition spaces throughout the city, and the whole city of Milan was buzzing with excitement like a festival. We were blessed with sunny weather every day during our stay in Europe, and it was also impressive to see the locals enjoying themselves in their own way under the blue sky.
As I usually greet customers in showrooms, how to present the space was a major challenge during this inspection. The overall impression I got from touring each space was that the presentation mainly used natural colors to highlight the quality of the products themselves. There were many color schemes inspired by natural materials, giving a clean and neat impression. Among them, the accent color that caught my eye was terracotta, which was used extensively in fabrics, paint colors, and even marble, and the dignified presentation was very striking. The displays were also mostly simple decorations, and the floral arrangements were impressive with their use of single colors rather than multiple colors. Amidst these presentations that made the most of the textures of the materials, I often saw displays that were inspired by Asia. Japanese accessories were used in various places, and even items that are familiar to us Japanese people stood out in the modern space, creating a sense of presence. It was also a good opportunity to objectively observe the demeanor and appearance of the brand staff, and it was a training session from which I learned a great deal.
The coordination and color schemes I witnessed during my recent training in Milan are all things I would like to propose to customers who visit our showroom. If you're thinking about buying new furniture but don't know where to start, please feel free to consult with us. We will help you create your ideal space, starting from a vague idea. We look forward to your visit to our showroom.
